The winner will be announced at the Council’s annual Top CAT (Contributors to the Advancement of Technology) awards ceremony on January 22nd. Joe Rotella, Chief Technical Officer and Director of Operations of Delphia Consulting, led the design and development team for HR Actions. “This new and innovative form of ‘manager self-service’ enables managers to initiate Human Resources transactions directly over the web, eliminating the need for paper forms while drastically reducing almost all routing expenses and time delays,” said Rotella. “HR Actions helps free HR professionals from time-consuming routine activities and allows them to focus on more value-added work in order to achieve strategic parity with other parts of the business.” National, multi-site companies such as Ameripath, Inc. and IDEXX Laboratories, Inc. have already implemented HR Actions and expect to save hundreds of thousands of dollars within the first 12 months. Rotella noted: “Built upon Microsoft’s .NET Framework, HR Actions is architected for internationalization and the ability to leverage XML web services, while also being easy to use, aesthetically pleasing, and easily customizable.” Within the last few years, Human Resources departments world-wide have been quick to adopt the web as a communication and transaction tool. The Internet has provided a new model for Human Resources service delivery – one that is making good on its promise of increased productivity and a change for the better in the delivery of Human Resources services. Web-based services provide a way to bridge the gaps between islands of information and technology, giving management greater insight into operations and streamlining business processes.
