Using FTP

What is FTP?

FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. FTP client software allows you to transfer files between your hard drive and a remote server (e.g. Delphia Consulting). For instance, you could put a copy of your HRMS database up on the Delphia Consulting network by transferring files from a hard drive on your network to the Delphia FTP site — fast and securely.

How to securely transfer files with Delphia Consulting

About FTPTo transfer files between your network and the Delphia Consulting network, you will need to have an FTP user ID. To establish an FTP user ID (or if you have forgotten your user ID and password), please contact Delphia Technical Support via telephone (614.421.2000, option 0) or .

Your FTP client (the program you use to exchange files using FTP) should be configured with the following information:

  • Host: ftp.delphiaconsulting.com (alternatively, you may specify the IP address 216.226.130.101)
  • User ID: enter the user ID you were given by Delphia Technical Support
  • Password: enter the password you were given by Delphia Technical Support

*Note: The User ID and Password are case sensitive. Please be sure to enter the case exactly as it was sent to you when you requested FTP access.

After configuring your FTP client you will be able to securely transfer files between your network and the Delphia Consulting network. Each client is assigned a unique file directory - so only you have access to your files.

Once you are connected to the Delphia's FTP site, you will be in your private directory. The directory contains two sub-directories; Incoming and Outgoing.

  • Incoming - enter this directory to Upload or Send files from your network to Delphia's network
  • Outgoing - enter this directory to Download or Retrieve files from Delphia's network

If your confidentiality policies  require data encryption, Delphia Consulting offers FTP with a PGP key.

If you experience problems connecting to the Delphia Consulting host,  and are behind a firewall (which is likely), please work with  your support staff to be sure they have the ports open in the firewall to allow FTP access out.
