An early holiday gift from the IRS! On November 29, 2018, the IRS issued Notice 2018-94 that extended the deadline for employers and other coverage providers to furnish the 2018 IRS Forms 1095-B and 1095-C to their employees. According to Derek N. Benner, acting executive associate director for ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), this summer will see a wave of 1-9 audits, likely pushing this fiscal year's audit total to over 5,000. ICE workplace audits have already doubled over those conducted last year. Fines for violations have increased as well.
