IRS Extends Deadline for Distribution of Forms 1095

An early holiday gift from the IRS! On November 29, 2018, the IRS issued Notice 2018-94 that extended the deadline for employers and other coverage providers to furnish the 2018 IRS Forms 1095-B and 1095-C to their employees. Summer Wave of I-9 Audits: Are You Ready?

Benner, acting executive associate director for ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), this summer will see a wave of 1-9 audits, likely pushing this fiscal year's audit total to over 5,000. ICE workplace audits have already doubled over those conducted last year. Fines for violations have increased as well. Employers must be vigilant in completing and retaining the forms, staying compliant with the regulations, and being prepared if ICE comes knowing at their door.
