Focus groups are a powerful means to test new ideas and gather information. Understanding the needs and expectations of representative users is vital to designing a user-centered site. Delphia Consulting designs and facilitates focus groups of both internal and external site users. A typical focus group consists of eight to twelve participants. The group dynamic produces insights beyond those from one-on-one interviews. A facilitator guides participants in a free exchange about the proposed website, encouraging discussion among group members, while keeping the group on topic.
