FivePoint Credit Union is one of the largest not-for-profit financial institutions in Texas. With a 70+ year history in their region they have grown over the years to provide services to generations of Texans. As a growing credit union, FivePoint needed a way to more efficiently manage a growing workforce. 

Scenario

FivePoint is a growing credit union that needed a way to make their processes and systems in Human Resources more streamlined and efficient. Their team relied on traditional means for managing HR transactions, using paper and pencil and even an adding machine.  They wanted to increase the automation of their systems and not have to continually update data using spreadsheets, databases, and paper files, and desired to have one system that did everything including a means to communicate everything from HR to their supervisors and employees.

Challenge

With multiple locations, Human Resources had the challenge of manually coordinating the tracking and maintenance of employee data.  Additionally, FivePoint recognized that as they continued to attract and retain a younger workforce, their current technology and systems they had in place wouldn’t meet their staff’s expectations. They also understood that taking advantages of the most recent technology in HR management meant they could do more with fewer resources and labor hours. Moreover, they were also paying too much for out-sourced payroll, and wanted to move payroll in-house. 

Solution 

After some conversations with the team at Delphia Consulting, they decided that it was best for them to start with some basic updates and then build to greater levels of complexity over time. The first step was to create a centralized database of all employee and payroll data using Sage HRMS. Over the course of a few years, they expanded their system with additional add-on modules that worked in tandem with the core HRMS to add valuable functionality. They were able to build in functionality as their organization required it, rather than paying for software they didn’t need. With a long-term focus in mind from their initial meetings with the Delphia Consulting team, 5Point has been able to transition to a paperless HR department and an efficient and more productive HR team.
