With Payroll, There’re Lots of Reasons to Move from Abra Suite to Sage HRMS

You already know that Sage HRMS is built on the industry standard SQL database. That’s one reason to move from Abra Suite and FoxPro. It’s a good one. But there are lots more. Take payroll for example. You can do things in Sage HRMS Payroll that you can’t do in Abra Suite. Take a look at some of the advantages that are waiting for you when you make the move:

Running payroll

You save time. For example, you don’t need to run Trial Quarter Close process. Just review your reports and file your taxes. And forget about running backups after your payroll processes. SQL database will handle all backups and validations for you.

Sage HRMS Payroll also eliminates timing restrictions for transferring employees between pay groups. Unlike in Abra Suite, you don’t have to wait until after Final Quarter Close.

Since SQL keeps its databases healthy and running smoothly behind the scenes, you don’t need to run the Optimize Database and Reform Indexes processes for each payroll as you do in Abra Suite. There is no similar process in Sage HRMS.

ACH and Direct Deposit

You have more options. You can create a direct deposit for a percentage of pay (either net or gross) as well as for a flat amount. Abra Suite provides a direct deposit only for a flat amount. Additionally, Sage HRMS Payroll allows you to make direct deposits active for a period of time using a date range rather than being able to use only one of three choices (Active, Inactive, or PreNote) available in Abra Suite.

Timecards

You have flexibility. If you like, you can save timecards with earnings, deductions, and taxes, and reuse them on future payroll runs. You can also eliminate timecards whenever employees automatically default to their normal hours worked and pay rates. Earnings/Deductions and Taxes can be overwritten at process, but isn’t required.

There’s more

If these sound good, you’ll be glad to know that’s not all. I haven’t mentioned eFiling with Aatrix or time off accruals. There’s support for 9,000 local taxes, and you can view Monthly, Quarterly, and Year-to-Date history online. And there’s more.
