The Countdown Has Begun
to Sage Abra Suite’s Retirement
What’s your plan?
Sage is releasing the last product update for Abra Suite in September 2020. That means no Q4 update or information needed for your 2020 Year-End processes. Access to the support center ends on December 28, 2020.
The question is no longer if you’ll move from Abra Suite, but when you will. You need to be off Abra Suite by December 1, 2020. As of the publication of this newsletter (December 16, 2019) that’s 241 business days away. It sounds like a long way off.
It isn’t. (Just how far? Check our post. We will periodically update the number of days remaining before Abra Suite’s retirement.)
Planning and executing a migration from Sage Abra Suite to Sage HRMS takes time.
While Automated SQL Migration (ASM) can usually migrate your Abra settings and data, including check history, from Sage Abra Suite to Sage HRMS in 90 days, you’ll want to explore the process and start planning now.
Make your move
Time has a way of getting away from us. Don’t let weeks slip by without making plans to move your payroll to Sage HRMS and a supported, state-of-the-art database.
Sign up for one of our educational webinars at www.MigrateToHrms.com to learn more about the migration process and ask your questions. Or, if you already know you want to migrate, you can call us at 1.888.421.2004 or fill out our Contact Product Sales form and we will get back to you to discuss your next steps.

IRS Extended Deadline
for Distribution of Forms 1095
A little more time
As it has in the past few years, the IRS has again extended the deadline for employers to distribute Form 1095-B and 1095-C to their employees. The date has been moved from January 31, 2020 to March 2, 2020. The filing date for these forms remains unchanged:
- February 28, 2020 – paper filing deadline for 1095-B/1095-C schedules
- March 31, 2020 – electronic filing deadline for 1095-B/1095-C schedules (Employers that file 250 or more information returns must file them electronically.)

Meet David Mcfarlane, HRMS Support Manager
David has over 20 years of troubleshooting and technical experience including 3 years supporting Sage HRMS at Sage. His core competency is data analysis, correction, and troubleshooting software issues.
How would you describe yourself?
I don’t think of myself as a technician. I am more of a philosopher. It just so happens that asking the right questions is a useful skill in both disciplines.
What are your favorite hobbies/activities away from work?
I enjoy making things with my hands. I always have a project going. I’ve made some wood furniture and built a studio for Audio and Video recording, which I am constantly improving. I also enjoy video games.
Best vacation ever?
I enjoy taking the holidays and spending them with family. When I start my own, that will be the best vacation.
Favorite place or site?
Anywhere that hasn’t been developed yet and is green. Don’t get me wrong, I am bringing technology with me.
Favorite Movie or Book Genre?
I’m a big Sci-fi fan. If you’ve never read the Lensman series by E.E. Doc Smith, I recommend it. That said, I am a huge fan of the MCU currently. I think of Thanos as a difficult payroll technician just trying to find some balance in the universe. I would like to see Hollywood get a little bolder and branch out to new movie ideas based on some of the more popular Sci-fi series that are out there.
