The New Version of Sage HRMS HR Actions (HR Actions) Drops W-4 Interface with Sage Abra Suite Payroll
Why?
Anticipating the retirement of Sage Abra Suite in December 2020, Delphia Consulting announced that with the release of Sage HRMS HR Actions Version 10.7.16, the W-4 solution will no longer interface with Abra Suite Payroll.
This decision highlights the importance of moving off the soon retired product. As you know, the last product update for Sage Abra Suite is September 2020.
Planning for the move
In order to have the information required for year-end reporting, you will need to be off Abra Suite and onto another solution by December 1. It seems like a long way in the future, but time passes quickly. (Check our Countdown Update post to see just how quickly.)
If you’re planning to migrate to Sage HRMS, you should begin the process now. Using our migration tool (Automated SQL Migration for Sage Abra Suite) and methodology, our team can usually complete a migration in 90 days or less. Still, it takes time to prepare.
Next steps
You can sign up for one of our educational webinars at www.MigrateToHrms.com to learn more about the migration process and ask your questions. Or, if you already know you want to migrate, you can call us at 1.888.421.2004 or fill out our Contact Product Sales form, and we will get back to you to discuss your next steps.

Clarification for Regular Rate
under the Fair Labor Standards Act
On December 12, 2019, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) announced a Final Rule on Regular Rate under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) that clarifies which benefits and perks must be included in employees’ regular rate of pay and which can be excluded.
This Final Rule includes a list of what employers may exclude from an employee’s regular rate of pay when determining their exempt or non-exempt status.
Read about it and follow links for more detailed information from the U.S. Department of Labor website.

Meet Melissa Bryan, HRMS Consulting Manager
With a payroll & HR background, Melissa has a widespread knowledge of Sage products, first as a user and now as a consultant. Melissa is certified in Sage HRMS, Sage HRMS Payroll, Sage Employee Self Service and Sage HRMS HR Actions.
How would you describe yourself?
I have a degree in Business Management with an emphasis in HR and Elementary Education. My first payroll position was in Las Vegas where I learned so much! Never thought about HR and payroll being a career, but here I am. And now that I am more on the HR side of things, I am grateful for my payroll knowledge as I can assist our clients in an more efficient matter. I love being a consultant. It allows me to use my elementary education background and teach people in multiple different ways as everyone learns differently.
What are your favorite hobbies/activities away from work?
I am a foodie and enjoy trying new restaurants. My husband, Tim, and I enjoy traveling and exploring new places. I love spending time with my nephew and two nieces and am looking forward to another nephew arriving in February 2020. I’m also a voracious reader, finishing 2-3 books a week.
Favorite music genre or band?
I grew up on AM Country radio and love that genre to this day.
Best vacation ever?
My dream vacation would be to spend time in Greece. The best vacation so far? My honeymoon in Costa Rica for 12 days. Costa Rica is simply amazing!
Greatest accomplishment?
Going back to college to receive my BA after being out of school for eight years
Favorite sports teams?
I’m a fan of the Seattle Seahawks, Gonzaga Bulldogs, WSA Cougars, and Eastern Washington University Eagles (my alma mater).
