What is a Sage Business Partner?
Sage Software supports the needs, challenges, and dreams of nearly 2.9 million small and midsize business customers in North America through easy-to-use, scalable, and customizable business management solutions.
Sage Business Partners are authorized to sell Sage Software solutions. But they are more than just “resellers.” Business Partners offer unique specialization, industry perspectives, and added value to the Sage ecosystem. They provide consulting and professional services, such as implementation and training. Your Sage Business Partner should work closely with you to make sure you’re getting the most from your investment.
Delphia Consulting works with Sage Software in two ways:
- Delphia Consulting is a software publisher. We design, develop and provide software solutions that extend the capabilities of existing software, like Sage HRMS. Because we have published more add-ons for Sage HRMS than any other publisher, and those add-ons have been very well received, we’ve achieved the designation of Sage ISV Partner Plus. Our 30+ add-ons include Sage HRMS HR Actions, Sage HRMS HR Analytics, and miviva.
- Delphia Consulting is a Sage Business Partner. We have worked exclusively with Sage HR solutions since the 1990s, starting with Abra Suite, then Abra Enterprise, and now Sage HRMS. We have 100’s of clients across the US, Canada, and the Caribbean. They cover all industries and all sizes. From small organizations with 1 EIN and 75 employees to organizations with many EINs and 1000’s of employees. We have more Sage HRMS certified consultants on staff than any other Sage Business Partner.
Your Relationship with Your Business Partner
In our role as Sage ISV Partner Plus, we work with dozens of Sage Business Partners. We appreciate and respect the relationship they have with their clients and we encourage you to work with your business partner to get the most of your investment with Sage solutions. All relationships hit “bumps in the road” and we hope you and your partner can work through those bumps. Over the years, we’ve found these to be the five most common motivations for considering changing business partners:
- Lack of Skills – If you’re concerned your business partner doesn’t have the skills you need to get the job done, talk with them about the size and qualifications of their staff. Perhaps they have other consultants who would be better suited for your company and projects.
- Slow Support / Response Times – Start by tracking your support issues and the corresponding response times, then talk with your partner about your experience and your expectations.
- No Relationship – If you feel you have little to no relationship with your partner, start by letting them know you feel neglected. Share your expectations for what you would like the relationship to be like.
- Leadership Changes – It’s inevitable that company leadership will change – both within your partner’s organization as well as your own. If the change is having a negative impact on the relationship, that should be dealt with as soon as possible. It’s important for both parties to be upfront when this happens and set realistic expectations for the transition of leadership and what changes will follow.
- Overall Value – Sometimes it’s easy to think you’re not getting enough value from your relationship with your business partner. A good partner understands you and your business and helps you achieve your business goals while demonstrating a return on your investment. If you feel the “value” isn’t there, talk with your partner about the gaps between your needs and what they are delivering.
Are You Considering Changing Your Business Partner
We hope you and your business partner have a great relationship and we encourage you to work together to maintain that relationship. We also realize your needs, your partner’s focus areas, and relationships, in general, can change over time. There are many good reasons to leave a partnership, and many ways to take action so you don’t have to. Make sure you perform regular check-ups of your business relationships and don’t be afraid to question any areas of concern. If you’ve exhausted the possibility of saving the relationship you have with your current partner you might consider finding a partner that you feel will be a better match to your needs.
