Due to continued precautions related to COVID-19, ICE has again extended permission for employers to remotely review identity and employment authorization documents required for completion of Form I-9. Like the original extension in March, this one is for 60 days and applies to employers who are conducting business 100% remotely. With many businesses still operating remotely, The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced another extension of the flexibility in some Form I-9 rules that was originally granted on March 16 and was extended again on May 19, 2020 and will expire on July 19, 2020 for those employers who are conducting business completley remotely. Sage HRMS HR Actions 10.7.20 improves the user experience with new navigation menu options, expanded submitter comments, and added protections around User Defined fields. New W-4 tax forms have been added for Delaware and the District of Columbia. The Illinois and Maine W-4's have been updated to their latest revision. The release also addresses nine reported defects.

There was no easy way to navigate between front-end and back-end. That’s about to change. Sage HRMS HR Actions Admin & Self Service and have been combined into one user experience. Through new single sign-on capabilities Administrators can navigate between front-end and back-end within the same tab. Now one login gives you access to everything you need in HR Actions. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has extended the deadline for employers to file their EEO-1 Component 2 pay data. Originally, last Monday, September 30, 2019, was the final day for filing. However, according a September 27, 2019 EEOC news release, that deadline is no longer in effect. Form I-9 Expires August 31. Can You Still Use It?

You have likely noticed the expiration date on the top of the USCIS Form I-9 that indicates the current version expires at the end of this month. The Department of Homeland Security has not issued a new version but is expected to extend the current version in its present form. Until they release information about an extension or new version, you can still use the current one. Sage has released an update on the compliance functionality for EEO-1 Component 2 reporting requirements. A .csv Import Template with Instructions is now available for Sage Abra/Sage HRMS HR only clients. An update is coming soon that will enable Sage Abra/Sage HRMS clients using both HR and Payroll to complete their filings. EEO-1 Component 2 Filing Portal to Open July 15

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) plans to open the web-based portal on July 15, 2019 for submission of Component 2 data. To help those required to file, the EEOC made help documents available on the site. Sage released an update on July 9, 2019, outlining its support for their customers who must file Component 2. Stay Compliant: EEOC Pay-Data Reports Update

Employers are required to include pay data from 2017 as well as 2018 payrolls when completing Component 2 of the EEO-1 Survey which has been reinstated on the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission form. Benner, acting executive associate director for ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), this summer will see a wave of 1-9 audits, likely pushing this fiscal year's audit total to over 5,000. ICE workplace audits have already doubled over those conducted last year. Fines for violations have increased as well. Employers must be vigilant in completing and retaining the forms, staying compliant with the regulations, and being prepared if ICE comes knowing at their door. Sage Delivers New 2018 Income Tax Withholding Tables with Service Release 2

Sage released Service Release 2 (SR2) which makes the new 2018 Federal Tax Tables available to Sage customers.
