Update: EEOC Extends Deadline for EEO-1 Component 2 Reporting
More time to file EEO-1 Component 2 pay data
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has extended the deadline for employers to file their EEO-1 Component 2 pay data. Originally, last Monday, September 30, 2019, was the final day for filing. However, according a September 27, 2019 EEOC news release, that deadline is no longer in effect. No end-date was given for the extension.
The court ruling issued April 25, 2019, indicated that the EEO-1 Component 2 data collections would not be deemed complete “…until the percentage of EEO-1 reporters that have submitted their required EEO-1 Component 2 reports equals or exceed the mean percentage of EEO-1 reporters that actually submitted EEO-1 reports in each of the past four reporting years.”
According to a SHMR article, 39.7 percent of eligible filers had submitted their data as of September 25. The EEOC news release instructs employers to continue to submit and certify their Component 2 EEO-1 reports for 2017 and 2019 as soon as possible.
